Pou Chai Temple (Kun Iam Tong)
Pou Chai Temple, commonly known as Kun Iam Tong, is the largest Buddhist temple and most extensive temple complex in Macau. Built in the classical Chinese soaring-eave style, it preserves the characteristics of southern Chinese temples of the Ming and Qing dynasties. Its founder was Shilian Dashan (1633–1705) of the Caodong school of Southern Chan Buddhism. Together with A-Ma Temple and Lin Fung Temple, it is counted among Macau's three great ancient temples; it was named one of the Eight Scenic Spots of Macau in 1992 and later designated a protected historic monument.
