Hirano Shrine
Hirano Shrine is a Shinto shrine in Hirano Miyamoto-cho, Kita Ward, Kyoto, Japan. It is a shikinaisha (Myojin Taisha), one of the Twenty-Two Shrines (upper seven), and its former rank was kanpei-taisha (now a Beppyo shrine of the Association of Shinto Shrines). Its shrine crest is the cherry blossom, and its main hall is an Important Cultural Property of Japan. Hirano Shrine is a famous cherry blossom viewing spot, especially renowned for its night-time blossoms. On September 4, 2018, Typhoon Jebi toppled the worship hall and many cherry trees, making it one of Kyoto's most severely damaged landmarks; the shrine announced it would close indefinitely for repairs, which may take considerable time.
