Kamigamo Shrine

Kamigamo Shrine, formally Kamo-wakeikazuchi Shrine, is a Shinto shrine in Kita Ward, Kyoto. It is one of the Twenty-Two Shrines, a Myojin Taisha listed in the Engishiki, the ichinomiya of Yamashiro Province, and was formerly ranked as a Kanpei Taisha (now a Beppyo shrine of the Association of Shinto Shrines). It is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site "Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto", and its Hashidono (dance stage) has been selected as one of Japan's 100 Famous Bridges.
