Nonomiya Shrine
Nonomiya Shrine (ののみやじんじゃ) is a Shinto shrine in Sagano, Ukyo-ku, Kyoto, Japan, holding the rank of village shrine. It developed from the "Nonomiya" (field palace): by tradition, whenever a new emperor acceded, an unmarried imperial princess was chosen as the Saigu to serve at Ise Grand Shrine, and the place where she underwent three years of purification before departing for Ise was called the Nonomiya.
