Temple Side Hostel (窩廟邊)

Temple Side Hostel is in West Central District, Tainan City, Taiwan. The building was built around 1966 (Republic of China year 55). It is a three-story townhouse that was originally a rice warehouse. At the top of the indoor atrium you can still see the large iron hook once used to raise and lower rice. The hostel is close to three national historic monuments: Chihkan Tower, the Official Martial Temple (Sacrificial Rites Wu Temple) and the Grand Matsu Temple. Many Tainan foods and snacks are nearby, including Tsai San Mao Pig Blood Soup, charcoal-grilled sandwiches, Yi Feng Winter Melon Tea, Wu Temple Meatballs (ba-wan), Tainan Danzai Noodles, Coffin Bread, Anping Douhua, Yuejin Savory Congee and Yucheng Fruit Ice, plus all kinds of food on Guohua Street within walking distance
