I once joined the military with big dreams. Over a long career I moved between Taiwan and Matsu, but I never stopped missing my hometown, Penghu. My family is here, and so is the natural beauty I could never forget. After retiring, a chance opportunity led me to become a tour guide in Penghu. While showing visitors Penghu's fine sand and clear waters, I met several like-minded friends. Over the years we came to share one idea: to "build a nest and live together." We could look after one another in old age, and running a B&B would let us put our skills to use while giving travelers a comfortable place to relax. And so the "Xiweihai B&B Village"…
