Yuehu Old House (月湖老家)

About Yuehu Old House B&B: licensed B&B No. 63 in Taichung City, located in Xinshe District. Xinshe is home to Taiwan's largest group of river terraces, where humans lived tens of thousands of years ago, and to the Baileng Canal, a remarkable irrigation project nearly a century old. Its cool, pleasant climate produces Taiwan's finest shiitake mushrooms, loquats, grapes and Oncidium orchids. With lovely scenery, easy access, an annual flower sea festival and attractions everywhere, it has long been known as Taichung's Yangmingshan. The B&B sits beside the Yuehu river terrace, looking across the Dajia River to Dongshi, with sweeping views of the connected peaks of Hengling, Yuanzui, Shaolai and Xiaoxueshan—mountains and rivers like a painting right before your eyes. At night, insects chirp and frogs croak, and Provincial Highway 8 glows like a river of stars.
