"The air in Hualien is incredibly fresh." That is the first thing every visitor says, and their first impression. The reason is that the majestic Central Mountain Range is close at hand, and the wide blue-green Pacific Ocean is right before your eyes, almost within reach. The newly opened Bixia B&B is tucked down a lane in the Golden Triangle, Hualien City's busy downtown, a setting that is both lively and peaceful. The entire building uses raw, natural fair-faced concrete walls whose simple textures resemble ink-wash painting, with little chemical paint.
