Heavy work pressure and long working hours: that was my daily life during seven years at a high-tech company, until one weekend when I brought my weary body and my family back to my wife's hometown of Xiaoliuqiu. I was deeply drawn to the simple, warm-hearted local customs, the scenery of mountains and sea all around, and the well-preserved intertidal and terrestrial ecosystems.
