512 Cabin takes its name from its address, No. 12, Alley 100, Lane 500, Meihua Road, Dongshan Township, Yilan County. The "cabin" comes from a large wooden house on the property, built in 1979 and covering about 100 ping (roughly 330 m²). The reason I chose to run a B&B after retiring is that, after many years of working in society, I longed to be close to nature and have a wide stretch of grassland with a garden and a small vegetable patch where I could stretch my limbs. In today's busy working world, it is hard to get close to nature, and even harder to sit down for long, heartfelt talks with family and friends.
