Shitiwan 118 stands quietly amid the ever-changing land and sea of the Gangkou tribal village, secluded from the world. This enigmatic house was created jointly by its artist owner and emerging architect Chen Guan-hua. The design concept begins with "simple living," conveying the philosophy that less is more and emptiness is fullness. Casting aside excessive decoration and packaging, it returns to the true essence and original form of a house, insisting on blending naturally into the surrounding landscape and leaving the leading role entirely to the flow of nature.
