Chuanzitou Tianshangju B&B

Chuanzitou Tianshangju is one of the B&Bs in the Chuanzitou Leisure Art Village in Dongshi Township, and is the family home of Hsieh Su-chen, executive director of the Chuanzitou Art Village Cultural and Educational Foundation. For nearly twenty years, she and her brother have been back in their hometown promoting a rural revitalization movement and building a haven along the Puzi River, and 'a night in a traditional courtyard house' has become one way for city dwellers to experience farm life. Beyond accommodation, the B&B places great emphasis on community leisure spaces: guests can enjoy being an urban farmer at the citizens' farm, and package tours can be arranged for farming and fishing village experiences and ecological observation along coastal Chiayi. Housekeeping and guided tours are provided with the help of local community women, creating jobs in the countryside.
