Tainan B&B "Yisu" is located on the historic lane of Xinmei Street — the first north–south trunk road built during the Dutch colonial era and once a major artery between northern and southern Taiwan, surrounded by rich historic sites. Today's Xinmei Street was formerly Zhengyi Street; earlier still, in the Qing dynasty, it was called Fanliao, a place where sails were dried and mended. Listening to the elders, you discover that Xinmei Street is in fact the most historic quarter of the old city.
