Moshang Caoxun B&B (陌上草薰民宿)

At the end of 2012 we decided to move to Changbin. After searching for and buying land, waiting two years, and then spending more than two years building the house with crews we hired ourselves, the guesthouse was finally completed. Since Changbin's climate is humid, all of our walls are finished with German lime plaster (high-quality natural paint from the German natural paint company Kreidezeit), in colors we spent a long time mixing ourselves: sienna red on the exterior walls, which feels warm in the cold of winter; sunny yellow in the lobby; spinel yellow in the double room; and a soft lotus-pink in the triple room, created by blending sienna red with black pigment.
