Hushe Hotel Taipei (互舍商旅台北館)

Located at No. 172, Section 2, Chongqing North Road, Taipei (three basement levels and fourteen floors above ground). Floors one through three are a preserved historic site — originally the mansion of Yeh Chin-tu, Taiwan's 'Pineapple King'. Construction began in 1926 and was completed in 1929. The 1st to 3rd floors retain the original architecture of red brick with washed-pebble finishes in classical Baroque style, while the floors above are a new structure built of gray granite. Old and new — two seemingly conflicting elements — come together in striking beauty.
