Shuai Ge Farmhouse B&B (蟀哥農家民宿)

In the single-clan village of Liujiao's Dianzhuang stands a century-old cypress-wood sanheyuan courtyard house of the Lu family, where five family branches once made history. As the family grew, many had to move away to make a living, leaving the third branch to watch over this charming traditional Southern Fujian-style building left by their ancestors. Moving from traditional industry into leisure tourism, we kept running the Shuai Ge farm with little spare time, but as visitors grew ever more numerous, an opportunity arose: rather than leave the old family home empty, we applied for a permit just as the government was promoting tourism. The road was full of difficulties—regulatory issues and land-use rights were hard bottlenecks to break through—but heaven rewards the diligent, and we finally obtained the official legal B&B certification.
