Chima Village is a small fishing village left behind by the bustle of modern life, with old red-tiled houses, stone walls and stunningly beautiful beaches, located in Xiyu Township, Penghu County. As marine resources dwindled and traditional fishing declined, young people stopped following their fathers' way of life and left for the cities, and the population drained away year by year. Small sampans sit lonely on the dunes, weathered by wind and sun, and fishing nets are now used to pen poultry — the whole village has grown quiet. The doors of the rustic southern Fujian-style courtyard houses stay shut year round, green moss climbs the mottled walls, and yellow allamanda vines reach out through the carved stone window lattices, as if announcing that the owners have long been gone.
