Xihuan Farm B&B (喜歡農莊民宿)
The farmhouse's exterior is built in a fair-faced concrete style inspired by Japanese architect Tadao Ando, while the interior uses a Japanese beam-free structural method — a contemporary minimalist architectural style incorporating several green-building features, such as an ecological pond, a grass-planted roof for heat insulation, and thickened walls that effectively block sound and heat. On this 830-ping farm, the main building occupies only a small footprint; the open grounds are left largely untouched, with sunflowers, lavender, and all sorts of unnamed plants growing freely. The insects are busy too — butterflies, bees, and dragonflies flit back and forth in this clean paradise where they feel most at ease. The guest rooms take inspiration from traditional farming households of old.
