Hushanyan Daylily Season, Huatan, Changhua

Hushanyan Daylily Season, Huatan, Changhua

The daylily, also known as xuancao, was the traditional 'mother's flower' in ancient times. The daylily fields at Hushanyan in Huatan have surged in popularity in recent years, reaching full bloom each May—a fitting floral spectacle for Mother's Day that draws crowds of visitors. Shared widely on social media, the flower sea has become one of western Taiwan's most iconic sights. Full bloom is expected around Mother's Day, with the season lasting about two months, and visitors can also explore nearby attractions in northern Changhua. The daylilies at Hushanyan are the 'Taitung No. 7' variety—the earliest-blooming daylilies in western Taiwan—which flower twice, blooming through mid-July.
