2026 Sun Moon Lake Starlight Firefly Festival

Ready to be surrounded by the forest's little green sprites? The 2026 Sun Moon Lake Starlight Firefly Festival is here with a wave of romance! The Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area Administration teams up with professional local partners to invite you to a midsummer night's dream. To protect the firefly habitats, joining an expert-led in-depth guided tour is strongly recommended, taking you straight into a light-pollution-free firefly party. By day, ride a bike with the wind, play in the water and observe fish and shrimp, or head to the Toushe floating basin for a land-and-water adventure; by night, become an explorer and follow local guides to dance with the fireflies and experience the most down-to-earth ecological charm. Don't just pass through—follow local guides from day into night and treasure this midsummer memory of drifting firefly light!
