"Slow Ride Through the Valley" Batongguan Historic Trail Cycling Challenge

Starting from Yuli, the route links the small town of Yuli and the boundary between the Eurasian and Philippine Sea plates, exploring the unique terrain of the Huadong (East Rift) Valley on two wheels, accompanied by local cultural guiding and food supply stops. Professional lead riders guide participants to the Batongguan entrance, then hike into the Walami Trail — known as Bunun territory and the "land of bears." Beyond enjoying nature's phytoncides, the roughly 1.6 km walk leads to Shanfeng No. 2 Bridge, with introductions along the way to the various roadside plants and the mythology of the Bunun people, conveying the Bunun relationship with nature as you step gradually into their traditional territory.
