2026 Taiwan International Birdwatching Marathon

The Birdwatching Marathon is a 24-hour birding event focused on the bird life of the mountain and coastal environments spanning Yunlin, Chiayi, and Tainan. Beyond satisfying birdwatchers and showcasing the beauty of the region's avian ecology, it aims to draw domestic and international attention to the Yunlin–Chiayi–Tainan coastal area. The Southwest Coast National Scenic Area on Taiwan's west coast features alluvial sandbars, lagoons, and wetlands that support diverse wildlife, with rich flora and fauna making it a truly distinctive scenic area—from the Haomeiliao and Aogu wetlands to the Puzi River estuary wetlands and beyond.
