2026 Ershui International Running Water Festival

The Ershui Running Water Festival is a canal festival unique in Taiwan, held at the historically and culturally significant Babao Canal, where participants run ahead of the incoming water to honor the decade of hard labor it took to dig the canal. Each November, as the harvest season arrives, a series of blessing activities is held at the canal, combining Ershui culture, the running-water experience, mountain- and coast-line agricultural specialties, and international urban-rural exchange to promote the township's tourism and revitalize its rural economy.
