2026 Miaoli Tongxiao Baishatun Gongtian Temple Mazu Folk Culture Series

The Baishatun Mazu Pilgrimage of Gongtian Temple in Tongxiao, Miaoli, is an annual folk event with over a century of history. Long-standing and grand in scale, it draws enthusiastic participants from across Taiwan who walk to Chaotian Temple in Beigang—a journey of nearly 400 kilometers spanning four counties and cities in central Taiwan. For its deep tradition and uniqueness, it was designated a nationally significant folk ritual by the Ministry of Culture in 2010 and selected as one of the Ministry of the Interior's 'Top 100 Religious Sites in Taiwan' in 2013.
