2026 New Taipei City Lantern Festival

Held since 2018, the festival brings together lantern craftsmen from both sides of the Taiwan Strait and invites arts groups to perform in turn, pioneering an exchange of traditional and creative lantern art. In recent years it has also welcomed participants from Japan, including Tokyo, Miyagi, and Aomori, building a brand image for Taiwan's traditional lantern festivals and establishing New Taipei City's distinctive lantern style. The festival attracts over one million visitors each year.
