2026 Kaohsiung Film Festival

This year the Kaohsiung Film Festival has chosen "Drama World" as its theme. "抓馬" (zhuā mǎ) is a Chinese homophone of the English word "drama," used to describe people and things full of theatricality, over-the-top plots and intense conflict. Whether you call someone a "Drama Queen" or say something is "so drama," the word conveys a vivid, almost fire-breathing intensity! This year's lineup features 13 films covering every kind of dramatic emotion in the world. From October 9 to October 26, the Kaohsiung Film Festival is more Drama than you think!
