2025 Kaohsiung International Container Arts Festival — "Love Being Wasted"

Since 2001, the Kaohsiung International Container Arts Festival has become one of Taiwan's most iconic urban art events. Using shipping containers — carriers of the port's memory — as its creative medium, it transforms the industry, history and cultural energy of Kaohsiung's century-old harbor into large-scale art installations across the city. For over two decades, the festival has brought art into public spaces, the docks and citizens' daily lives, witnessing the growth and transformation of the cityscape and its cultural imagination. The 2025 edition, themed "Love Being Wasted", extends Kaohsiung's experience of material circulation as a port city, rethinking the possibilities between "waste" and "regeneration" — from containers and industrial scrap materials
