2026 Xinshengdi Art Festival

The 2026 Xinshengdi Art Festival, "Flower Episode," uses plants and flowers to play on the double meaning of the word for "flower arranging" (插花). On one hand it is the refined art of cutting nature and placing it in a vessel. On the other, in Taiwanese slang it means casually "joining in" uninvited, a show of grassroots vitality. The festival is built around the way weeds break through cracks in concrete to claim tiny spaces. It invites the public, artists and wild weeds to come to the art museum together and bring uncertainty and a wild spirit to its rational, geometric modernist architecture.
