2026 Northern Taiwan Mazu Cultural Festival

Since 2006, temples across northern Taiwan that jointly worship Mazu have carried on the grand tradition of returning the Golden-Faced Mazu statue of the Qing-dynasty official Taipei Prefecture Tianhou Temple to Taipei City, expanding it into the "Northern Taiwan Mazu Cultural Festival." Since 2011, the event has rotated among the eight counties and cities of northern Taiwan, deeply integrating a diverse series of folk, religious, and cultural activities in Taipei's old city and the host county or city. It not only promotes Mazu's spirit of compassion and helping the world and preserves traditional folk arts, but also fosters cross-county religious and cultural exchange, allowing the public to experience the unique and rich culture of temple fairs firsthand.
