2026 National Heritage Day | Chess Moves Through New Taipei's Historic Sites

In response to the 2026 National Heritage Day theme of "Revival, Resistance, Reimagining," the New Taipei City Cultural Affairs Department presents the "Chess Moves Through New Taipei's Historic Sites" series, incorporating cultural imagery of the Year of the Horse. Representative heritage sites and historic buildings in New Taipei, including railway stations, railways, forts, and military dependents' villages, are reimagined as the chariot, horse, cannon, general, advisor, and soldier pieces of Chinese chess, inviting the public to explore New Taipei's mountains, sea, and city and discover the charm of its cultural assets. Beiguan music education lectures will also be held to introduce the beauty of Beiguan musical art.
