Pre-Columbian Cultural Heritage: Contemporary Ceramic Interpretations

"Contemporary Pre-Columbian Cultural Heritage" brings together 11 Chilean ceramic artists, all members of the UNESCO-affiliated International Academy of Ceramics (IAC). Although Chile has a rich pre-Columbian ceramic tradition, this heritage was once overlooked in contemporary ceramic practice during the first half of the 20th century. Since the second half of the 20th century, a growing number of artists have returned to the cultural roots of clay, bringing new perspectives and energy to Chilean ceramics.
