2026 New Taipei Austronesian Cultural Festival

Since its launch in 2020, the New Taipei Austronesian Cultural Festival has drawn over 190,000 visitors, making it the largest Austronesian cultural celebration in northern Taiwan. The 2026 edition takes "Ocean" as its theme and, for the first time, is held as a grand lawn concert, showcasing the vast vistas of the sea as a stage where Austronesian cultures converge, and inviting Austronesian peoples from many countries to gather at the Shihsanhang Museum of Archaeology for exchange. This year features two full days of non-stop traditional and contemporary music and dance performances, Austronesian crafts, ocean-themed hands-on workshops, Austronesian language mini-classes and an island-breeze market, along with exciting programs such as the "Austronesian Navigator Challenge" and "Ocean Story Island – Storytelling Sessions."
