2026 Jiufen Red Lantern Festival, July 18 (Sat) – August 17 (Mon)

The 2026 Jiufen Red Lantern Festival runs from July 18 (Sat) to August 17 (Mon). This year's event centers on local cultural heritage and a crossover with a classic original IP, featuring Taiwan's renowned glove puppetry brand Pili Puppetry to light up the Jiufen mountain town with immersive martial-heroic aesthetics. Blending Jiufen's unique history, mountain-and-sea landscape, and tourism appeal, the festival creates dazzling lantern art installations and a diverse lineup of activities, inviting visitors to explore the mountain town's beauty from new perspectives. Travelers from home and abroad are warmly invited to step into the seaside mountain settlement of Jiufen, along its terraced stone steps and winding alleys.
