New Taipei Cultural Friendliness Year × May 18 International Museum Day

In response to International Museum Day on May 18 and the annual theme of the International Council of Museums (ICOM), the New Taipei City Cultural Affairs Department has designated 2026 as the "New Taipei Cultural Friendliness Year." Centered on "dialogue, understanding, inclusion and peace," it promotes museums as cultural platforms shared by all and bridging communities, building a more inclusive and approachable cultural city. On May 18, New Taipei's public museums offer free admission (except special exhibitions at the New Taipei City Art Museum), along with activities and limited-edition gifts.
