Taiwanese glove puppetry has evolved through different eras into diverse performance styles and content, allowing it to keep growing, take root, and flourish — arguably the most vibrant and widely influential of Taiwan's three major puppet theater traditions. Throughout its development, different lineages branched out from different masters, such as the Zhou and Ge schools. Troupes founded in each era have both carried on tradition and broken new ground.
