The Sustainable Realm of Nature: Collection Exhibition of Works by the Ceramics Museum's Artists-in-Residence

The works in this exhibition explore reflections on land, hometown, and identity; the relationship between natural ecology and human memory; emotional responses to environmental change and loss; and nature as a vessel of memory, with rock strata, soil, and plants bearing the traces of time. Human memory, triggered through the body and the senses, also forms a kind of inner nature. Working in clay, the artists examine the many relationships between nature and the environment, focusing on "clay" and "natural memory" as symbols of the symbiosis between life and its surroundings.
