Ciyafangan Boat Launching Ceremony

The Ciyafangan is more than a new boat. It carries on a cultural tradition that runs from the mountain forests to the ocean. In Indigenous communities, life in the mountains and life by the sea have always been closely connected, and building a seagoing raft begins with going into the forest to gather materials. This year, young people from several communities in Fengbin Township followed in the footsteps of Chief Ro'it of the Gangkou community to put the "from mountain to sea" way of life back into practice, step by step.
