Spring Outing in Traditional Dress – Qionglin and Xiaojing Seasonal Stroll

Qionglin and Xiaojing, located in the center of Kinmen Island, are two neighboring traditional settlements with distinct characters. Qionglin, known as the "thousand-year settlement," preserves an intact cluster of Southern Fujian-style historic houses, with winding maze-like lanes reflecting a deep-rooted clan culture. Xiaojing, though smaller in scale, is simple and tranquil, where remnants of military camps from the old battlefield defense lines still stand alongside old trees and homes, presenting a distinctive landscape where civilian life and military history coexist. From architecture and living memories to folk festivals, both settlements are rich in human stories and historical context. During the 2026 Lunar New Year, through settlement strolls, traditional dress experiences, and cultural reenactments, residents and returning natives are invited to take part.
