Keijō Shrine

Keijō Shrine

Keijō Shrine (Japanese: Keijō-jinja; Korean: Gyeongseong Sinsa) was a Shinto shrine on the northern slopes of Namsan in Keijō, Gyeonggi Province, during Japanese rule of Korea (present-day Seoul, South Korea). Its enshrined deities were Amaterasu Ōmikami, the Great Spirit of the Land of Korea, Ōnamuchi-no-mikoto, and Sukunahikona-no-mikoto. Ranked as a minor national shrine (kokuhei shōsha), it served as the tutelary shrine of Keijō's residents. Namsan was also home to Chōsen Shrine and Keijō Gokoku Shrine.
